I LOVE winter, snow, Christmas! I love Hallmark Christmas! And I REALLY love Hallmark Christmas in July! It is SO HOT in the south, I need a reminder that the cold weather will come back again!
So it makes sense that my first two products on Teachers Pay Teachers are ones I use at Christmas time!
I love Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride! My students usually have heard it (although they usually don't know the title), and it has a lot of fun instruments that depict a sleigh ride (temple blocks=horse hooves, slapstick=whip, jingle bells=jingle bells :) , trumpet=whinny). I made up this fun movement activity that my students and I really enjoy! After all, we don't get to go on many sleigh rides in Oklahoma!
Sleigh Ride is in a pseudo-rondo form (ABACCABA), so I created different activities for each A, B and C sections. It's such a fun, Christmas-y activity and it's great for those cold inside recess days. It lets them get up and move around while understanding form and learning about a classical piece of music.
For the movement activity, download my freebie here!

You can purchase the full version here! The full version includes the freebie movement activity as well as: *slides with information about Sleigh Ride *slides that teach rondo form *assessment game to evaluate students' understanding of rondo form
See a few slides from the full version below:

If you download either one, please follow my store and leave me feedback!
Now I'm putting my feet up and watching Hallmark Christmas with a Christmas mug full of cocoa! Nothing but 100s on our heat index forecast... how many days until fall? Winter? Christmas?
